Information On This Song[]

This song was common pre-Bluegrass Anglo-American Dance Music repertoire. In North Carolina, Kentucky, and most of the other central eastern states this song is known as Wild Horse. Hunt's version is a good example of the dance style common in Texas and non-Cajun Louisiana. The style of these areas were different because they were looser than the styles of the more northern states were at the time. This is usually attributed to the large amount of mixing between various cultures in these areas. There is a similar style found in some parts of Tennessee from around the same time.
